Hi everyone

In the past few months my son has been on at me to get him a new bike (his BMX being battered and too small for him now). As it was nearing his birthday I have been reading up on the forums and looking for a decent LBS....

I got lucky, a decent LBS was close by so I popped into Cycle-tech to have a quick look, now armed with pseudo-understanding gained through reading. While being shown around we hovered around a Scott 620 at which point the buzzwords came out - it became very quickly apparent to the guys and I, that I didn't have a clue :)

As the days counted down, visits became more frequent and more info and understanding was gleaned.... about a week before d-day Logan and I went in for a "measuring" - the bike was too small, and there were no other specials of his size (S), so we went away to have a think...

2 days later I was back and I had a chat to Marco, do I go for the Scott 2013 620 (and possibly replace in a year), or is there something else... he quickly did a check, phoned around and offered a list. I left, more decisions to be made.

The next day I went in residing on the 620 (the others at the same spec were beyond my range) - as soon as we started talking, he got thoughtful - spoke to reps, and came back - similar spec, in a small and will be there by the end of the week.

True to his word the bike was ready, and was picked up by Logan (my son) and I on his b-day, on the way home he didn't shut up :) and once there disappeared into the complex on his bike and we didn't see him until 6 :)

he came back knackered, but with a grin from ear to ear :)

Having read some of the horror stories, I felt this needed to be shared - the guys at cycle-tech will definitely see me again. There knowledge, compassion and customer service is fantastic, I'd recommend them in a heart-beat.

To Marco and co - that grin was made possible by yourselves, I cannot thank you enough!!

Got to agree. My local shop as well. Always awesome and friendly service. And best of all you feel welcome spending R10 or R10000 there.
