Brakes selected , fitted and dialed in ..

XT parallel with matching lever.. Fits like a glove and feels smooth, stops on a coin with Cool stop pads

Here are pics .. Without her pads..

Looking good, those old XT brakes are excellent, had some on my first decent mtb.

So how does it ride/hop?

Weird how some frames/bike builds feel so much more responsive and in time with your rhythm than others.

Hey

She feels quick .. Too quick for me ( skill set has faded since 1983..)

Hops well and feels balanced, unlike my MTB the front end feels balanced and not top heavy... Sonose diving will be less likely but if she does nose dive it's my need for practice... Will still need to do a good ride on her, planning to try this weekend..
