27.5 front and 26 inch rear, sooner or later it had to happen

Flyer, a well known swiss ebike manufacturer have introduced an Electric MTB (ok so that’s not big news) BUT the interesting bit is it comes with with a 27.5 inch front wheel and a 26 inch rear wheel

Following the off road motorbike trend of a larger wheel in the front.

Stupid question maybe...

 

But what would be the biggest benefit of this set up? You get better control upfront but you have the nimbleness in the back?

 

Serious up front with a party in the back?

I guess.... the idea is provide more traction and obstacle clearance up front where it might make more difference...buif thats the case why not do a 29er front?

Yeah that is a good point,

 

 

But maybe the bike geometry will be a bit off with that set up (trying to picture it in my head) but it is actually a good concept.

 

Especially for us riders who like to throw it around a bit, want to keep an eye on this one

I wonder how much it changes a riders angle with the surface going downhill. Can this help me not go superman. And how will that affect the angle going up.

 

Anyway my head is stuck at the idea of having a motor in the bike.... maybe when I'm 70 and have serious gout problems.

Yeah don't go there, but I'd like to get one for the wiff then she can motor pace me and shout "faster baastid, faster"
