  1. I ride my best in the 160's My heart rate is always 10-20 beats above my training partner. Have pushed till a 202 on a sprint. On the second day of the W2W adventure I could not get my heart rate above 160 and had one of the crapiest days in the saddle ever. Some oaks just have Rotary engines that likes to rev high
  2. It is the end of the world as we kno...... Aaah **** hub is back online
  3. heard someone got a blowjob he didn't want, I'll take one for the team...
  4. Djy Jok, July, djy lieg!! [emoji23] GRTP always wins....
  5. I run a Vittoria Barzo 2.2 front and Vittoria Suguaro 2.2 back, the Vittoria's for my riding style is just awesome, very forgiving, I believe I would have lost some teeth if it wasn't for this combo. Most of my buddies are running Spez Fasttrack, good value for money but I wont do to technical stuff on them. I ran them and the sidewall just did not hold up as it should have.
  6. mmmm they do tend to swim around but I still wont be to bothered, used to spear fish at skuins bankies, a very popular place for catching sharks. chances are very slim of an attack
  7. there is a bike for every rider out there, its got nothing to do with brands, dont let people tell you that one brand is better that another. Find the bike thats right for you!. You can only do this by knowing what type of rider you are. I am a Scott Fan. I think Scott bikes a beautiful, yet I am riding a Giant Anthem X at this stage. Why, because its a plusher ride and gives me more options than the Spark 920 I had. Similar spec bikes, The Scott out performed the Giant on the fast XC tracks, but the Giant out performs the Scott on more technical loose rocky stuff and are more stable than what the Spark was. Both brilliant bikes, but the Giants suspension lets me hit little bit bigger jumps than the Scott. the hardtails outclimbs the Duals on gravel road / dirt roadie type climbs the duals outclimbs the hardtails on loose rocky technical climbs which is better, red or blue? just find your bike and be happy with it. your bike is the best bike!
  8. whats the wieght of that XC-2's? I had a loaner the other day while my rim was in for repairs and it felt like a ton
  9. PS also we did the W2W adventure this year. my buddies Edge Design's ran like a demon, no issues what so ever..
  10. even a bigger bargain. Sorry about that, still they both very happy with the wheels and also other parts they bought from Edge Design,
  11. Got two buddies running edge design, R3995 and I believe round the 1800g mark per set which is not to bad
  12. agree, The guys in G on the last day where flowing a lot better than the ouks in D, I was quite surprised seeing this
  13. I blew just before the first water point on day 2, thinking back it was lack of hydration the night before. It was a massive pitty as riders flew past me on climbs to stop at every switchback or root and walk. Day 3 I felt stronger but worried that I might blow again. Did a 5:05 from G, but were not so lucky as your friends and did the whole route
  14. I believe so, I also was unsuccessful, sad thing is I have done the last 5, but on my way Sunday morning to the start this year I was involved in an accident that prevented me to ride, now what has become somewhat of a tradition of going down to CT and spending the Saturday with the kids at the junior tour is down the drain,
  15. had my back wheel come off 3 or 4 times due to a faulty skewer
  16. I probably have to start training for the adventure
  17. not close to 50 hours since new, probably not even 20, but I can check my logs to make double sure
  18. the bike in the shop has a big difference on the climb setting vs trail and descend yes, I believe mine was better as well, but cant really remember because I never really lock / use climb mode, it was per chance that I found the settings doesn't really differ
  19. no one?... question above.... really? ..... come on.... this is the hub after all
  20. got a question, maybe the wrong thread but I dont want to start a new one just for this, I noticed after about 3 months of riding my 2014 Anthem X adv that the settings on the shock in CTD doesn't differ at all/ very little, I went to the shop, felt another bike and could feel the lock out or climb mode vs trail and descend, the owner of the shop also thought it would be best to send away under warranty, Fox now came back saying the shock is in spec, but they can set it to be stiffer but would cost about R500 , ideas? should the difference be very little, does it depend on the model? I ride 99.9999 % in trail but I could swear that I thought the lockout was better than the nude that I have on my 2014 Scott
  21. not XC but besides that, how old are you? I have 2 DS bikes, if you start doing stages then its awesome, lot less impact on the body means quicker recovery, if you aiming for podium get the HT, looking for fun buy a DS
  22. so let me know so we can take those Giants out for proper riding perfect bike for the TB you are training for
