I have a giant xtc with a xo crank on. Cranks been fine for a while but then I staryed hearing a squeaking noise from the bb. Sounded like the bearings. I wasnt suprised as the bike had gotten very wet a few times

Any way. I took the crank off. Bb out and cleaned everything

Not the issue is. Ive put everything back exactly the same as it was, but if I tighten up the 8mm bolt on the crank......if I turn the crank arm it can hardly move. Has alot of resistance.

Bb shell is 73mm and ive got 1 spacer on the mon drive side. I no its not recommended but thats how it was

Take the spacer out. There's meant to be a gap between the BB and the crank on the drive side with a spring washer that holds the drive side BB seal in place.
