Lumbar hyperlordosis

Has anyone else been diagnosed with this?

 

I recently started having severe lower back and left hamstring pains. Thought it was because of poor flexibility so tried a lot of stretching. After not improving I went to a doctor who sent me for X-rays and confirmed that I have Lumbar hyperlordosis. This was pinching the nerves in my back causing the pain.

 

I am currently at a physio who helps with exercises and also posture etc. but would love any other advice? He has prohibited me from running and I can only cycle very upright (no tuck or drops)... :thumbdown:

 

I started a new job at the start of the year which has me sitting 10 hours a day. My thinking is this combined with training on a TT bike may have caused it.

I had a very similar issue, severe disc degeneration that caused axcessive curvature of my lumbar region eventually rupturing 3 discs simultaniously....... GROOT ***!!

I had an emergency 3 level fusion but am better now than before! secret is lots of core exercises, planks and crunches.... especially static holds!

Lumbar radiculopathy here... same thing, I think. Childhood injury - pinched nerve at the disc, shooting nerve pains down into the foot - made worse by vibrations, prolonged seating etc... Basically - my riding is stuffed... :(

 

Operation if the physio doesn't work - and it's not... Going to try pilates next - apparently a good instructor nearby, that will do a proper assessment first. It sucks, can't even run anymore - vibrations sees my leg cave. But so be it, for now.

Thanks for the replies guys. Been at physio now for 2 weeks, stopped running and focus a lot on my posture...

 

Pain is much better, but still feel it at the end of the day. Considering using a standing desk at wok from time to time!

Had the exact same issue and needed a spinal fusion. This was 3 months ago. Don't mess around with this kind of thing...

 

In my case the serious nerve pain in my leg even started going away, which I interpreted as healing. After seing a specialist and getting an MRI it turned out that my leg was actually going lame. LUCKILY they caught it in time, so no permanent damage.

 

Take my advise, go see a specialist. Rather be sure...
