help with specialized roubaix elite

Hi i would just like to know what other riders think of a specialized roubaix, i'm interested in buying one!

The one with disc brakes are pretty cool

 

It's got a slightly less racey geometry than the Tarmac and of course more comfy with the cushioning tech

thanks for the info, i read about the less racey geometry, will it be that of an issue in 100km rides, or wont it bother that much, i can get a brand new 2014 one for 18k?

Depends on your level of fitness and flexibility...headtube is a bit higher..so you don't have bend that low , wheelbase longer ..hence a more stable ride less "twitchey" ride ...lekka bikes ..what gruppo is on the bike .?

My friend is 56 and rides a 2012 version. He did a 3.05 Argus in 2013. So the bike is not slow at all. He has serious neck problems from wrestling and said that since he got the bike he enjoyed cycling much more than before.

Nibali consolidated the yellow jersey on stage 5 of TdF I think on a Roubaix if I remember correctly

Dont be fooled, that bike is fast.

 

In my arsenal I've got a Tarmac and a Roubaix.

 

I've also ridden the Roubaix sl4, man I can tell you that bike has superb power transfer, no slouch at all.

 

Just the other day took the Roubaix for a 160km group ride, every ride is an experience.

 

EDIT: Just a note, remember that the toptube is sloping and that you will probably have to buy one size smaller than what you are used too.

I had one as well.  Very comfortable & smooth. 

Sold it due to a attempted mugging in Stellenbosch to get off the road. 

Now I miss it. 

If I find one for a good price I'll take it.
