Hi

 

I bought a trek rumblefish yesterday and today when i took it for a ride the brakes where squealing its because the pads are touching the rotor any suggestions?Please help its a brand new bike.

They are bit more finicky than most brakes.

 

There's an instructional somewhere about lining up brakes. The guy put a business card on either side of the disk, squeezed the brake to line it up, and tightened. Quick fix. I have a set so its first hand experience

the problem with those brakes are the pistons sometimes does not go all the way back again, then you can center them all you want, their solution is to take a flat screwdriver and push it back manually, not ideal

Try aligning them first. If that doesn't work find someone who can bleed them properly. They work well when they're set up right.

Ja Agree, as Wolfie1 would tell you, easiest brakes to work on would probably be the Shimanos. Got my Avids for dirt cheap so i just deal with it

The buss card seems like a idea. I am having endless problems with my Formula 1 brakes.
