Dustbug Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Advert posted by the above is a possible scam, the pics are from a bike I sold last week and have couriered , the specs are identical and some of the componenets shown in the pics would be impossible to duplicate on another build up unless you also owned the other bike they are from.

Dustbug Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 I deleted the ad on Friday as I sold the bike on Thursday and couriered it on Friday, the bike is with the couriers on its way to George, it was the buyer who contacted me about this add. yes it was sold on the hub original ad was at R15000.00.
Dustbug Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 Ok some clarity has just come to light on this as stated possible scam, it would appear the OP MTB199 had anticipated buying the bike but it was bought by the actual buyer before he concluded the deal. He posted another advert prior to concluding the sale using my pics etc just altering some detail slightly anticipating a reasonable profit only he didnt get to purchase the bike. This created the impression of a scam as niether myself or the buyer knew who he was as there had only been sms communication. The Op has contacted me in this regard and I have done as I said I would and advised of the correct situation as I have been given it. This incident did result in the advert being reported and the OP's user being blocked by the HUB Moderators, who I have agreed to contact and request they open/ release his User name again.
Skylark Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 The guy was trying to make a quick buck off your bike?Buy it in the classifieds and then flip it immediately in the same classifieds at a profit using the same pics and hope no one wold notice?
