Ai kry nie geoefen die week weer baie sleg! Sal indoor trainer moet bou...

O ja ek sien jy is ook in Weskaap, waar bly jy? Hier in Groot brak naby George het ek 90mm reën uitgegooi van Saterdag oggend tot vanoggend. Bitter nat, bitter koud en helse winde wat waai.

I would like to do a Breedtsnek night ride ( at least 100km) to test lights, batteries and clothing for the cold. Looking to do this end June early July ( on a weekend night).

Anybody wanting to join? We can come up with a suitable date to do this as well.

Had my first training session for Transbaviaans last night. Before that I trained for 100miler. ☺

This is starting to be a reality.....

Cannot wait.

You can do it Mads. After the Atta and 100 miller you will be ok. Gooi millies Girl. Are you doing the 1st or 2nd Baviaans. We (Daisies) are doing the 2nd one.

That's a great idea. Please give me a shout when you finalise dates - we would like join in. For a 100km's I would suggest that we start at Van Gaalens and do the farm roads to Breedts and back.

I was thinking the same route. I will pm you and we can start a whatsapp group for Transbaviaans night training rides and get others together and decide on dates.

The first one.  15 August. :)  Its the unknown that is so scary.  This will be my first TB.

Nice...... pity you are the next week.  Always nice to see the Daisies on the races.

Always seems that you are having so much fun.  As we are all .......    I know.  :D

Once you have the date firm, please post this ride on the Pretoria East MTB Facebook group (2500 members), there will be quite a few of us that'll be keen to join.

Pfft - hardly a beast. This is the one race I have yet to hook up properly. Something always goes wrong!

You guys are making me super nervous - my couch is currently getting more bum time than my bike, and I'm getting worried!

Like chundering on MAC :w00t:  But seriously, for a mid to back of the pack finisher like me you are a BEAST!

What has been you guys' best result?

Once on MAC, twice at the top, and once on the NeverEnder. It's become such a common occurrence that my team mates no longer give me any sympathy. There is a brief moment of awkwardness, and then it's business as usual.

We've come 6th a couple of times. But our biggest claim to fame is that we're usually the first team to be drinking red wine and eating pizza afterwards!

Nothing like a good chunder to add some 'flavour' to the experience! Isn't that what good mates are for, not giving you sympathy...

That is still very good going! I think you can add interesting team names to your fame claim.

I think we are in for another 'rough' ride this year, don't think they have done any maintenance on the route and last year was already quite rutted, could only have gotten worse.

Our team name this year might have gone too far. Although it's going to be interesting to see Wikus try to pronounce it.

The Kloof is still in better shape compared to when we first started going through all those years ago. At the risk of sounding old - "it was way worse in my day"...

What did you go for or don't you want to give it away.

Hehe, I hear you. Last year was the worse I did although I think they graded a lot of it just before I did my first one in 2010. Going for my 6th.
