All these cancellations, no-shows, threads of cheaters and dopers and of course social interferences, has me feeling very grumpy indeed.
MTBc Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 strada, modderfontein & vg are all the same organizer. There also used to be a lekker one at Misty Valley. That's a 4 hour drive (including stops) out of Joburg - a bit of a mission, but worth the drive. That one was canned due to lack of participation.
Sasquatch Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 We saw Eric from van Gaalens at Wines2Whales and asked why it is canned, he told us the organisers did not want to pay him for the venue. I think he mentioned a figure of R70 per rider. Thats seems reasonable to me.
HOEKVLAG Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 There are probably people around on the Hub with more pertinent information, but there's always been rumors that the organisers are not known for their payment etiquette - hence the frequent changing of the venue over the last couple of years....

Paul Ruinaard Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Disappointed This really pissed us off as well. It was our year end boys MTB get together. We doing our own event. Ride out to Magaliesberg to a mates farm plus a braai and beers up the hill at his braai plek, followed by a night MTB around Magaliesberg and a pub crawl in town. It is pretty piss poor performance on the organizers part in my opinion.
