Tokai is definitely on the list and I will appreciate that very much, thanks Marko!

Good stuff, just chuck me a pm when you are organized and we can sort out the details.

How busy is Tokai on weekends these days. I was staying in Lakeside a couple of years ago and would ride there early morning, at first light. Ans what is the security situation like. I'd ride via Blue Route then up Tokai rd, or around on Steenberg road.

Not as busy as it used to be but still busy over weekends.

Security on Tokai road (past The Blue Route) is okay but I would be careful of riding alone in the early hours past the circle towards Steenberg. There was an incident there a month or two back.

For those out of towners, I am creating a WhatsApp group for the December holiday period.

Should you be interested in joining please drop me a pm with your cell no and contact name and I can add you.

Between the lot of us it should be easy enough to arrange rides.

I will do my best to take riders out in the Durbanville hills/Tygerberg mtb club trails.

Based on this thread, I did Oak Valley yesterday with the wife.

Fantastic trail and definitely worth the drive out.  Will definitely go back and do the black one next time (did the red one this time around).

Hey Guys,

Everyone seems pretty helpful here, so Im going to ask some assistance.

Im moving from JHB to CPT (Claremont) end of Jan 2015 and would like to know where I can join a MTB group ride to get to know the riding areas in CPT and surrounds? Would be great to get to know the etiquette down there and where is safe to ride, as well as possibly find some riding partners.

Would appreciate any feedback,

Cheers.

Frost, create a new thread just before coming down and make sure to make a couple of posts to keep it current on the feed list.

There will be lost of feedback I am sure.

Etiquette for ct mtb......smile, wave, don't take things seriously, accept that some trails you might need to walk at first until you can ace them finally have fun [emoji12]

On the Claremont side, tokai will be your closest trail with table Mountain also just about on your door step....From there on you will find a multitude of trails in the greater CapeTown area

Hey Hairy,

I sure will do! I'm going to Plett for a month now, so I'm going to do some special local trails in the Harkerville forests.

Will get to CT primed and ready!

Thank you for the reply, and all the best for the rest of the holidays.
