Event Name: The Burry Stander Memorial XCO Series.
When: 1 February 2015
Where: Thaba Trails. 101 Klipriver Drive, Mulbarton, Gauteng
Category: MTB

Thaba Trails are proud to host the BURRY STANDER MEMORIAL XCO SERIES 2015. In it's THIRD season the series has become a stand alone event in honour of our ICON and friend Burry Stander. Now a five race series we will cater for all levels of XCO Skills. Not everyone enjoys the adrenalin of technical courses nor the constant 90% heart rate for the duration of each race,so we have created the opportunity for novices to experience this discipline.

The series will be run as follows:

INTRO TO XCO. Two events over the same course that will be typical XCO but not too technically challenging. It is an opportunity to try your hand at this Olympic Discipline.

1) Sunday 1st February.

2) Saturday 28th February

HOOKED ON XCO. Two events again over the same course that will be slightly more technical. A course that will prepare one for the harder more technical. The passion now begins.

3) Saturday 23rd May

4) Saturday 20th June

The ULTIMATE XCO, The final of the series. This will be a true test of skills to the standards required to win Provincial, National and World Titles.

5) 4th July.

Prizes will be awarded at each event but for the SERIES WIN a rider will have to compete in the FINAL and a minimum of THREE other events in the series.

Program to be finalized as we would like to make provision for those who work on a Saturday morning to be able to compete. So Probably Juniors in the morning, Vets/Masters early afternoon and Elite/ U23 mid afternoon.

Joe - based on that I would say no and Wendell is the type of person who is encouraging riders to ride so I know that he would not have such a rule
