Fabian46 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Riding a GT Zaskar 29er, and running a Manitou Tower Pro fork with 20mm both thru axle. Here's the problem: Fork is very spongy....and isn't very stiff when in the "lockout" position. Apparently this fork doesn't lockout completely, that being said, its still too soft and causes a bit of a nose dive when opened even further. Had an OTB on Tokai the other day while descending a drop off. I've managed to work around the softness for a while now, but the OTB was the last straw. How do I set this fork up to be stiffer? Can I do it myself? Will a RockShock pump work on this fork? (I haven't seen a Manitou pump anywhere)Is it just a matter of pumping up the air side, or are there other settings that need to done? Help will be appreciated.
JXV Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Ask your LBS to help set it up. There is a sequence of things to be done. Then if still too soft, something may be wrong.
marko35s Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 As far as I know shock pumps are generic so any brand should be okay.If you are struggling take it to Andrew at Stoke suspension, if anybody around here can sort it he is the guy. Maybe try a PM to him his user name on here is droo.

Odinson Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 If the fork has a Schrader valve, then almost all fork/shock pumps will work - the fork's air pressure may be too low for your weight and riding style.
