Scleral lenses are rigid lenses (not soft) are larger than softs but more comfortable than routine rigid (RGP) lenses. You don't get dust under them.

They do require fitting by someone who knows how to do it. Bit more advanced than "standard" contact lenses, thus not all optoms fit them. Cost also bit higher.

Can I ask if people have experience with the rudy projects inserts vs corrected lenses? Isn't the peripheral vision and overall experience better with corrected lenses?

I ride with varifocal inserts. I uae the photochromic rudy lenses as they adjust well to changing light conditions. Started out with the polarised rudy lenses and found it difficult when riding singletrack. Now my optical setup seems quite optimal. 4 years now. Every time my normal glasses scrip changes I have the old set cut for the Rudy insert. Works for me!

Thanks for all the replies. Just another question, is anyone wearing their Rudy's with the insert as day to day sunglasses as well?

 

Seems a bit silly to pay for 2 pairs of sunglasses - one to ride with and the other to use daily.
