Thinking to change over to campagnolo, but I still have shimano wheels. Need to know if I MUST immediately also change wheels or if I first can ride like this and change wheels later

Hey there, TS, I am currently running Campag with an SRAM cluster and American Classic wheelset, adjustment must be spot on though. Done about 500km with this setup and no problems yetThumbs%20Up. I know you asked about Shimano but SRAM could be another option.

OK now we know what you want to do. speak to a bikeshop. I seem to recall that it may be possible to get a Campy casette that will fot on a SH!tmano rear hub. But I may be wrong.

I had Campy Velocce 10 speed on my MonoC, used Shimano Chain on Alex DA 22 Rims with Sore hubs, race wheels were Rolf Vector Comps with Shimano cassette.

Had no problems whatsoever

The spacing is different but the difference is very small.  A couple pro teams use shimano cassettes with their campag setups.  The setup will not be as easy, but still pretty straightforward.

The spacing differs, as usual just check Sheldon Browns (RIP) website.  Campy = 4.12mm to ShimaNO = 3.95mm. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><?: PREFIX = O />

Check the table two third down after the 10sp cassette table (collaborated by the CTC website)

BUT it is in the range of slop that most new derailleur can handle.   I haven?t personally run it like that but I know of people that do use it like that.  I am running oooold Mavic cassette with 9sp Campy.

Here is some ?Sick?  LOL Campy Shimano mixing info (mixing levers with derailleur)

You've got some options:

1. Just ride with the Shimano casette at the back.

will probably be a bit fussy.

2. I've heard SRAM casettes works well with Campy shifters, have not tried it myself.

3. Contact the powertap guys, BicyclePowerTrading, they can sell you a conversion casette (Shimano sprockets with Campy sized spacers)
