wynandk Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I currently have mavic rims on my bike with 23mm tyres. They're old and will need replacing soon. I've measured the outside width of the rims and it's 19mm. I also use the bicycle for commuting (and just riding around). What is the maximum width you guys recommend I go for on the tyres? I'd like something wider than the current 23mm since I only read about benefits for doing it. btw, its an old ss frame so basically any width would fit the forks. TIA.Wynand.
the nerd Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Im running 700x35c Ritchey cross tyres on my old road wheels so im sure they will work. Been a bit of a struggle to shove the tube in and get the bead to seat but it does and it works well..

Any suggestions for make/models and shops to give a go? I live in Table View and work in Brackenfell. Primary purpose would be commuting as said before.
