Yup, that's how a lot of these guys work. It's not always necessary when they start the " you need better pedals, you need to upgrade saddle, you need et etc".

That's exactly the last time I've paid a visit to a bike-fitter (as they'd tried their best to sell stuff that tally up to R3k, while the bike-fitting session itself only cost R650)

IMO, one might be better off by watching youtube videos on bike-fit and try them out yourself at home first before parting any money with bike-fitter.

its on the website, but i replaced pedals, shoes and saddle in the fit, so price went up quite a bit

Just saying, don't walk in there expecting to spend only the R1400 odd for the fitment

The only time I spent extra money at Cycledit was a new saddle I wanted.

For the rest, they tilted my handlebars and moved my shifter hoods to lengthen my reach so I didn't have to buy a new stem. They even reused the bar tape.

Unless your bike is are completely wrong, they can make it work.

I walked out of Cyclefit with only the bike fit on an entry level bike.

Of course they have recommendations to upgrade equipment but I never felt compelled to buy anything extra.

IMHO, a proper fit is the best money you can spend.
