An ideal XCO venue must be centrally situated, easily accessible, must be able to handle visitors and traffic and above all, MUST HAVE TOPOGRAPHY! Fountains cannot be used anymore as you can only get 120m ascend per lap max - we need at least 190m per lap for proper XCO tracks. So, there are not many XCO venues in Pretoria surroundings that are suitable, Thaba and Voortrekker Monument are some of the few!

So, there are not many XCO venues in Pretoria surroundings that are suitable, Thaba and Voortrekker Monument are some of the few! So as you say, there are at least a few venue in and around Gauteng that meet the requirements.Why centralise all provincial events to one single venue at Monument?
