With Boonen and Cancellara missing Paris Roubaix, its a blessing in disguise for riders like Wiggo/Stannard/Thomas/Degenkolb or Stybar/Terpstra.

One thing is certain, we're set for two magnificent races come Flanders and PR.

I mean, just imagine a muddy sodden Koppenberg in conditions like that. Everyone will have to walk up up it in roadie shoes. Maybe they should lay a climbing rope down the side so that people can pull themselves up it....

I think this is the big pull for spectators. There is a massive risk and reward factor, power meters get thrown in the river and team orders allow some mad Italian stallion to pick up wins when Ettix should have been sprinting for 1st and not 2nd.

Lets see some racing regardless of weather!!

“Wiggins will win Paris-Roubaix this year,” Ghent-Wevelgem winner Luca Paolini told Cycling Weekly.

Was that before or after he drank all the beer in Belgium?

Spartacus agrees:

“What Bradley will do, nobody knows,” he said. “We know he’s going to go for Roubaix but he can also be competitive at the Tour of Flanders.

“We know that when Bradley focuses on things he normally will achieve it somehow. Of course he will be one of the contenders that people should talk about.

“He did not just talk about it last year, he made it a really serious effort [to win in Roubaix]. He prepared for it last year and he came pretty close and impressed a lot of people.

“Of course Roubaix is a special race but Bradley is a serious contender.”
