Going from flats to clipless pedals, Trail to Stage Race

Hi guys

Need some advice...

I'm currently running flat pedals paired with 5—10's. Trust me, I'm loving it as it suits the riding I enjoy, more trail etc.

I however scored an entry for Wines 2 Whales, and am considering making some changes to the bike.

I'll probably switch out the 1x10 for a 2x10, and am also looking at going with clipless pedals.

What would be the best clipless pedal in your experience? Doesn't have to be the lightest, also not looking to break the bank,.

I'm looking at something that provides a solid platform, but it needs to disengage with ease as well.

look s-track with or without cages. I tried shimano and crank-bro's shimano is good and lasts forever. S-tracks just feel better! I added cages and really liked them even more.

P.S. I still own the shimano pedals just incase.

If you are unsure Shimano M520's. They're real cheap (CWC has some specials every few months) - currently going for R350 (cleats included). They also last long. Longer than your bike (well, almost).

Otherwise, the S-Tracks aren't too expensive at the moment, though, I can't vouch for them.

But the shoes, thats a whole different story...

I can second this, shimano pedals will in all probability out last the bike.
