I saw an advert in Bicycling magazine the other day advertising helmets or something and it had this cool looking dude riding a Kuota but the brake caliper quick release was in the "up" position.

I thought to myself "At least get the technical bits right for the flippin advert!"

But 2 days later I saw a pic of Robbie Hunter riding Barloworlds Bianchi with the quick release in the up position!!!! WTF!?!?!?!?

Have I being doing it wrong all the time??? Surely it needs to be in the down position so that when you need to remove the wheel you can open the calipers??

Somebody please tell me...this is driving me nuts!?!?!

I have some worrying thoughts as well,

If a tree falls on a mime in the forest when no one is around, does he cry? This bugs me personally...

Veloce, I think that it depends on the thickness of your rims. My training wheels are Mavic Ksyriums and when those are on the bike, the caliper quick release is right down. However, when I use my Equinox rims, I have to keep the caliper adjusted (about half way up/down) to take into account the fact that the carbon clinchers are wider.

Oh no, now you've just added to my list of things that drive me crazy!!!

Like, what happens if a mime loses his voice but is sick of his job???

If a pig loses it's voice, is it disgruntled?

If a man says something in a forest, and there is no woman there to hear him, is he still wrong?

If a tree falls on a mime in the forest does anyone care?
