  1. Not holding my breath for justice here. The SOB who murdered Greg Andersen last month also pleaded guilty and effectively walked away with a slap on the wrist (36 month prison sentence with 18 months suspended which means 18 months in prison)
  2. Incredibly moving memorial ride this morning to remember a giant of our sport. RIP Grandpa Greg. You will be sorely missed by all who knew you and rode with you. The massive turnout at ICG this morning on one of the coldest days of the year (many on mountain bikes) was a fitting tribute to your memory and legacy that you have left behind.
  3. My suggestion is that you go halfway up Hill road and at the first stop street before the school, turn left and go to the golf course, turn right and up Wicklow. Alternatively, skip Hill road altogether and after Emmarentia Dam, go straight to Wicklow
  4. As I read the rules, the way to win is to match everybody ahead of you in price and then bid a lower number that was missed during that massive jump from the R900's to the R1,000's The rules state "The highest UNIQUE BID" wins so if you double up all the higher bids, your LOWER number will become the HIGHEST UNIQUE bid
  5. I drove past the scene this morning just before 9am. It was not a bicycle on the ground but a black and red motorcycle. Regardless, RIP fellow cyclist/motorcyclist
  6. Or the ones with a smaller diameter. Cannot fit mine into the Enve bars
  7. Just heard from somebody at my old office that one of the guys who works there was stabbed on the Spruit this morning in the Linden/Blairgowrie area. Sounds like the same incident. He is still in Milpark hospital
  8. BEST COMPETITION EVER!!!! Well done Gerald - that was awesome
  9. I miss the days when there were only 30 or 40 hubbers taking part (but then the prizes were much smaller). If you came last you still made top 50
  10. I have found the following site has all sorts of parts that most don't have: www.sjscycles.co.uk and they ship to SA
  11. I first rode Modders when they opened and for some reason I have not been back since 2013. Went there yesterday - what an amazing ride. There is an incredible "black" section just near the river that offers some good rock riding but you need to pay careful attention to find your way out at the end. Well worth the time
  12. I am a Cyclelab marshall and I can promise you that this is NOT the norm and is certainly NOT condoned or accepted. Unfortunately without additional info, it is difficult to pursue. To the OP, if at all possible (and I know that it is hard), please could you advise which group was responsible so that further action can be taken. The groups are categorised as A/B, then C1, C2, C3, D1, D2, D3
  13. Forgot all about it. Just received my email - bring on the big South Easter
  14. +100 on this. Best money you can ever spend on your cycling
  15. Does anybody still have a full team? I think it is time for a poll: 1. Full team 2. 6-8 members left 3. 3-5 members left 4. 1-2 members left 5. Elvis has left the building
  16. THATS ME!!!!! WOOHOOOOOO (although on the main comp I am getting slaughtered. Dropped from 106 to 40something in 2 days)
  17. GeraldM, when do you find time to actually do your day job with all this HUB competition PT? Admin, my vote for hubber of the year goes to the GERALDMDAWG
  18. Geraldm, I have a question - Where the f*^$ did all these hubbers come from?? I remember the good old hub days when there were only 70 entries into this competition
  19. I spent almost an hour reading the rules trying to see what the perfect combo was (weighted towards climbers or sprinters or GC). Could not find a loophole to punch through. I think you have it perfectly covered at the best fluke wins (because of points for breakaway, most aggressive, lantern rouge etc.)
  20. STOKED!!!! What an amazing competition. Well done Geraldm24 and admin
  21. Haters gonna hate. I think the bike and helmet look awesome. You can keep the lace up shoes
  22. Alex lying 3rd - only 25 miles behind the leader and 15 miles behind second place. He has covered 1,158 MILES (1,850 km) in a few minutes short of 6 days!!!!

    The Munga MTB Race

Alex is currently in USA racing the Tour Divide. I am sure that he will sort all of this out on his return
  24. Holy crap - honorary doctorate available to all who understand. My suggestion - pick your team and let the experts run the points. At the end of the day, check your standing. Finished.
