This was a proper mudfest of note. The rain on Saturday late afternoon and also the rain during the night was not good for the trails. The route was lightly changed with the 50km race doing two laps. The first 5km's or so was ok then it got worse, the soil is the clay type and it 1. sticks like glue and 2. the mud already on the bike attracts more mud like a magnet. Stopped at 7km's to clean of some mud and 9km's my derailleur hanger broke. The race was eventually reduced to 25km's for the 50km's guys and the some of the 25km bunch was reduced to 15km's.

Looks like a nice series will miss the next one as it clashes with the Magalies Monster but will be back for number 3 and 4.

I am surprised it went ahead, we had around 25mm of rain Saturday night in Magalies, doesn't sound much but over the last 5 or 6 days we have had over 125mm of rain in total!
