Craig 26 Posted March 19, 2015 Share I don’t think there would be a scenario of right and wrong but rather a matter of opinion.I would like to hear yours. I have a carbon frame and some of the white paint has gone a bit yellow. I believe it to be a common problem with the frame in question. The question I ask is if you think I should have it touched up (just the effected part) or rather leave it as is. The reason I’m nervous to touch it up is that when it comes time to sell and move to another frame, the re-spray could be seen as a cover up of a larger problem and the frame will be classified as re-sprayed. In light of some of the discussions currently in hot debate on the forum about re-sprayed bikes and frame damage cover ups I’m a tad nervous. Opinions please ladies and gentlemen …. JacBrand Posted March 28, 2015 Share Tough one. How about trying to polish the white and see if the yellow goes away? Back in the days I used to polish my metalic blue cannondale frame with normal motorcar polish.
tombeej Posted March 28, 2015 Share Take before/after photos and maybe video it, showing there's no damage to the frame and that you're just giving the old bird a facelift. If I was buying, I'd be willing to pay more for a frame with a brand new paint professional job if I knew that's all it was.
