[Event] Nissan Trailseeker #2 Grabouw

Hey Guys,

In the last week I've been in 7 provinces, busy times.

Last night I sat with our route guys down here to catch up and fine tune some things.

Permissions are all set and paper work up to date.

I'm not implementing some minor change on route, and tomorrow we'll give the whole route a once over, and do the sign-off.

36 events a year around our country, so bear with me being "late" with the route.

It's going to be a route thats vastly different from anything you've ridden before at Grabouw, and lets hope you are going to like it!

Some info on distances and specs are as follows:

Fun Race: 20.4km / 320m ascent

Half-Marathon: 34km / 600m ascent (currently will try squeeze out another couple km's)

Marathon: 67km / 1400m ascent

Spending tomorrow all day on the ground to put everything in place.

Routes will then be final, and profiles etc uploaded.

Thanks for your support & patience!

a very hilly looking profile for marathon distance, to be expected in that neck of the woods

It's hilly but the overall ascent is just over 1400m... very good for the distance!

the route description for the Marathon sounds good, some suffering and gorgeous views lie ahead

@wessel, what are your thoughts on future events having snapscan available for the race village? its a super convenient service for making food and beverage purchases

Hi Leaboy,

We got a mail form someone earlier this year.

Can definitely look at something like that in the future.

At the moment though we hardly have time to look up and at the horizon.

Best to implement something like this in the new year.

Regards,

Wessel

SnapScan FTW! The SnapScan team is super helpful - just give them the go-ahead and they'll set up everything.

Progress waits for no man Wessel

I can second that. I had it arranged for my wifes deli. Took 2 minutes to apply and is super useful.

It's not just my decision... :whistling: no matter how quick and efficient it is

We don't sell the food or drinks ourselves, nor take a cut of it and have to consult with vendors long before event day.
