Chilli Pepper Posted March 29, 2008 Author Posted March 29, 2008 To everyone who did this race - whether you were at the front with the "Vinnige Frikkies"or travelling with the Hubber's bus and other groups; And especially rider no.501 who finished just ahead of the sweeper vehicle: RESPECT! This is NOT a flat route and it wasn't easy. It was windy and it was hot and the last 5km was cycled in pouring rain. But you did it, and for the most part there was smiles all round. Thank you for the opportunity to share this day with you!

Zoo Cookie Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 the start was a disaster, the waterpoints were nothing to write home about, the route was by no means flat and i almost got taken out by a 1st class idiot in a audi! BUT...... the hubber's company and the support in the form of Chilli Pepper, Firefly, Sonic and Gary the driver/photographer, were excellent!!!they were smiling when handed clothing, at the right time ready with ice cold water and cola and when need the most a word of encouragement.thanks guys - you rock!!! and to the rest of the guys riding: thank you for the chats here and there the odd joke or two and making it a most enjoyable 6 and a half hours in the saddle.special thanks to pocketbikes for making your vito available to all of us. and thank you to ox wagen who pulled me the last 20 km when the legs started really getting heavy and wanted to quit on me. wolfie, at one stage i kept going, because you kept going. hubbers, i'm proud to be counted as one of you! amateur - next the panorama!! can't waint.

Whether it was offers of a small push, wheel sucking, great support out the bus or just being there suffering with me, you guys made me finish and I am thankful for that. I really think this is an awesome pic. I don't know why... Maybe a combination of the top of a hill, with a truck behind, and a lovely background. another great pic and one that could've been deleted
