Yes Mongrel, I have heard about the weight limit on the Crests. I am 93 kg. However, I was informed by a salesman that because of the hubs, spokes and wheel build, the Crests will easily take my weight. I don't know how true this is.

i have used a set of crests for 3years without problems .I weigh 100kg

Until you have a warranty claim...................then see if they cough up.

 

If you are more than the weight limit, rather get something else or get the Silverback and see if you can get the wheels swapped out for something stronger.

i agree .I have a set of crests and a set of arch .The arch is stronger and i use them on my DS for rougher terrain .Never had issues with either

PS - I had a Sola 1 myself. Was informed that if you state your preference for Arch Ex some bike shops may actually rebuild your wheel onto Arch rims at minimal extra cost.

 

If you're looking for bikes with bomb proof wheels off the shelf, look at Giant (PXC wheelset), Trek (Bontragers have 136kg limit) or Specialized.

 

Also look at vBike, I see they're selling off 2014 stock at really good prices
