Life span of a Bib

I would love to support local but when it comes to quality bibs buy European!

Amen

I've had Nalini/Santini bibs lasting 10 years. The lycra on the local bibs, especially when sceen printed do not last.

Stitching on the leg gripper is normally prone to failure, even for Assos.

You lost the slip...so just wear it and get your money's worth, until its properly buggered or your crack shows......

If you a poser....well then best go buy a new one now and KEEP the slip.......

Cheers.....

I bought 3 pairs of Adidas shorts off Wiggle 6 years ago and they still going strong. At least 3 rides a week, plus trips to France etc.

The Santini one's I bought from CWC have lasted about 2 yrs and are on there last stretch, I think I got pretty good value of of them, I do really long miles so can't expect more.

Only they have none. I need to get new bib....

Contact FA and ask them to have a look at it.

I once had a FA bib whose padding detached from the lycra but the stiching was still in place. So the sponge and was just a ball in one corner. I sent it back to them, no slip or anything, and they sent a replacement.

They did say that using Vanish to wash the shorts in at 60deg water could have been the cause.

FYI........ this happens with all their bibs

Stitching aside....you'll get more milage out of lycra garments if you avoid using bleach and fabric softener when washing them.....just use soap. Air drying rather than artificial heat such as a tumble dryer also helps.

Pretty sure it was FA that replaced or repaired one of my ex's items when he sent it back to them. Contact them directly - Twitter or Facebook if they have could be good place to start. Its easy for them to see that the bib is not a million rides old.

Hey there!

FA have a very good repairs and replacement department who handle any issues that arise.

You can email repairs@firstascent.co.za and will deal direct with you even if you have bought at a store.

Hope this helps!
