Bike Festival - Northern Natal

Hi Hubbers

We own a large farm in Northern Natal (about 370km form Durban and 390 km form Joburg) and, i  would like to develop it as an Mtb destination for people to come to.  We have a mix of Game and Cattle on the farm and a Hotel located right next to it. So there is plenty of accommodation as well as camping facilities. I want to make it affordable to everybody

Now I have always had this dream to  have a bike festival/week ( a carinival type of feel to it)  there that will encompass the pro's ( even some international stars ) and the amateurs, with the pro racing in the beginning of the week and the amateurs  more towards the end of the week ( but nothing is set in stone). and finishing it off with a massive party on the saterday night,

I was looking to accomodate , Downhill, Enduro, XC, XC Marathon etc etc and then some of the more extreme stuff like free riding, but i think you get the idea, and I am open to more ideas.

Now my question is would you hubbers be interested in coming to watch and support this and take part in it or should i just leave it where it is..... as an dream.

I would also be interested in suggestions and people to assist me in making this viable if we decide to go forward?

Hi Guys, we are currently working on trails and it is close to Dumbe, but a lot of work still needs to be done to get it going...I just want to judge the reaction and see if it is worth the effort.

Why not chat to the guys at Mankele (Mark or Geoff) and ask them about what they did? They have an awesome concept that really works and they host mtb events which in turn become festivals. They also attract the weekend warrior who camps there with family and mates in tow regularly.

I will get hold of them and see if they can help me....Thank you very much
