Gate closer Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Riding at Red Barn today and at the start of the day the free wheel was not working properly, it seemed sluggish, could not pedal backwards without the chain getting wrapped up. Five km later all of sudden I found a box of neutrals and had absolutely no drive, pedals just turn forward and backwards with nothing connecting. Is the hub the problem or the cassette?

rvdm1 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Sounds like your freehub has gone, it has teeth(pawls) on the inside that has to engage when you are pedalling and disengage when free wheeling, by the sounds of it they aren't engaging any more. What make and model hubs do you have?
