Threw myself off the bike in spectacular fashion at 70kms into the 80km race. Nice all over body job, every limb bruised and grazed.

I lost a pair of rudy project swift glasses at that point if anybody picked them up?

The 80km MTB was a fun race.  Not much singletrack but that's to be expected with such a large field.  Forests were beautiful and not muddy.  General mtb etiquette does appear to be dropping.

Only minus point was that I neglected to buy one of those racetec chips and didn't get a time - WHY can't the timing be in the number boards like other races or even SA Seeding (at R50/board)?

Great weekend in Knysna!

Hi Hugo

It was the really steep jeep track descent with a few rain ditches in them, I don't remember any loose sand, it was just before the grassy single track 10km near the end.

Oh ok, i passed another guy a few km's before that steep jeep track section where you came down. It looked like he fell real hard.
