Off center brake pistons, adjust or bleed?

I noticed that my one brake pad has worn down to the metal while the other still has some life in it.

Seems like the brake pistons are not even / centered. Is this something that can be adjusted or does it need to be bled again? See pics.

Piston may be stuck or the brakes were set up off-centre to begin with. It can also happen if there is a small airbubble in one piston....that side will then always be weaker and the pads will wear unevenly. Common issue.

Remove pads and the remove caliper from frame. Wash/scrub with an old toothbrush and degreaser to get all dirt off the exposed pistons before pushing them back all the way to make room for the new pads. Insert bleed blocks and bleed carefully. Then fit the new pads and realign.

The LBS will probably just put new pads in and tell you its ok.

I've had this issue before and you need to make sure the "stuck" piston is moving freely before you reassemble with new pads or it will just happen again. The brakes will also work better when its fixed.

I have a similar kind of issue with my SLX brakes. The pads are fine but all of a sudden the travel on the lever has doubled before any thing happens. Most noticeable on first pull then firms up a bit.

Any help would be welcome.
