R15 hack for KS dropper posts

A simple v-brake rubber boot can make a huge difference to the reliability of your KS or other cable actuated posts.

 

Your lbs should have these in stock. Takes about 10 minutes to install and should keep the worst gunk out of the cable.

another add on to make the post actuator more reliable is to take a small spring and place between the post mount and the cable actuator, this ensures the cable is fully extended after each release and ready to go.

Good point. Springs found in pens would be too weak. What else can you look at?

i successfully used a bic click spring with no issues, remember there is very little resistance and the actuator is doing most of the work, the spring just adds some help. i suppose you could get a stronger spring if you wanted but i could never see the point as my hack worked just fine.
