How much does it cost to be Team Sky?

So how much does it take to run a top level Pro team? Well Team Sky has just released their budgets and books from 2014 and the answer is.... a lot!! But no where near as much as it the total marketing budget of Sky corporation (Team Sky works out to be about 2% of total budget). 

 

Report is pre Konig and Roche signing, pre Wiggins leaving and buried in the article it seems that Porte is going to BMC next year.

Apparently Lotto-Jumbo rolls on about 10M Euros. Team Sky budget was £24,479,000 / 31.4 Euros. Wage bill of £18.2m / 23.1 Euros.

Yep! and don't forget that to sponsor equipment you have to add in a cash amount for the team to consider using your product, so Pinarello for example will give lets say 50 bikes/frames to the team and then pay lets say 50 000 Euro to the team...these figures are guesses but this is how the teams roll - not just Sky...
