Ballito MTB trails (besides Holla)

So I am off to Ballito (Dolphin caravan park) for 2 weeks as from Monday and will probably be able to ride at Holla 3-4 times but would like to know what options I have for the other 7/8 or so days ..... would like routes about 30-40k's that I can ride in the mornings safely on my own .....

GPS files would of course be a bonus!

Yes I did do a search but didn't really find much and thinking that perhaps some options have become available in the meantime ..... even if it is just dirt road etc.

Thanks in advance!

The other option would be to head North past Shaka's Rock and stay on the East of the N2. There are some nice public routes to ride, but not that scenic as you can't get close to the ocean without trespassing.

Holla's network is more than enough to keep you busy for two weeks. There are week passes available at good prices.

Ben, just stay at Holla - 100's of kays of trails there so you’ll never be bored. There are some routes through the sugar cane between Ballito and DBN, but then you'll need an EMBA board. Other option is to take a drive 70km for a day at Giba. There is a lot of epic riding out beyond Holla (inland) in the mountains, but then you'd need to go with someone who know those valleys and it takes some organisation because you generally need to get driven in, dropped off and then arrange for a pickup a few hours later. To much of a mission for a just a social holiday. Holla it is.

Hey Ben

If you dont mind a little travel, and like to do some proper trail rides (some of the coolest single track around).. come to GIba in Pinetown..+- 60km from ballito... it is a nice variation and completely different from Holla ( which i personally find a little boring).

NB. Giba is also holding their Giba Gravity Enduro on the 11th which is always a awesome fun event to attend.

Darren from Hero Adventure Park ( Heia Safari) has built trails , or helped with building trails, down there, think it's called Sugar Rush .. I'll look for a link

Thanks guys it rained all last night and early morning but has stopped. Going to Holla tomorrow morning and will probably just try to get in 5 or 6 rides there.

I rode at Giba last year October and it was great but too far to drive ...... Don't want to upset anyone (happy wife, happy life ???? )
