I had a 3x9 setup and also wanted to see what the fuss was about. I did a test by only staying in the middle ring and although my legs were totally shot at the end of the ride, the simplicity was so nice.

 

Less gearing to think about, more fun, less clutter and of course some weight saving.

 

Now I have a kitted nw chainring with clutch rd and converted to 10sp which helps a ton rather than 9sp.

 

Really enjoying the setup as its so simple but also need to up the fitness. No dropped chain to date.
