So I was wondering if anybody knows of any junior cycling teams except europcar. Like as junior cyclist we need some help when it comes to race entries, nutrition , training etc. I mean I'm sitting with a power to weight ratio of 6.47 and there's no junior teams for development and in offering help. I always finish with the bunch and have got a few top 5 positions , including really good results in provincials. Missed out on sa due to fractuued wrist. I had to get here all on my own. I've got a 2 50 for 94.7 not starting in the racing group and I'm 15.

So if anybody has suggestions on clubs that can help support and develops please let me know

Almost all the Universities have junior teams and youth development teams. Unfortunately most semi-pro youth cyclists start off where you are now.

It will be your responsibility to pay for entries and to cover the costs for professional training and eating programs. The majority of young racing snakes work at bike shops during holidays to get cheaper parts or free maintenance, maybe start from there...

20 mins test does not equal your FTP.

FTP = (20Min effort * 0.95)

What is your weight?

What is your 5min, and 20min best efforts in Watts.

311 watts for 20mins 367 watts for 5mins. I weigh 55kg

Cool so your FTP is 295W, putting your power to weight ratio at 5.37W/Kg impressive, very impressive!

You must just double check with someone who knows better if the 0.95% of 20min effort is applicable to someone as young as you though. I would assume that there might be a bit less endurance during ones teens.

Wow that is impressive sure you will win races soon!

What power meter are you using?

One can only hope . its often the team factor which the other guys have that prevents me from stealing the win. Using a tacx flow trainer , which is accurate , however prevents me from getting out the saddle. Squeezed a few extra watts above the readings when doing it on my friends vector pedals
