I also need to know these answers..

Rather go earlier, as soon as batches start, the parking gets quite congested. This is when you struggle to get in, this happens every year. So aim to be there an hour before start at least.

Did not like the course and damn so many accidents waiting to happen.... Did ok in 3:20 odd and tried to hang on the remnants of BL in the front but had to stop.

Water should be in sachets so one can grab an go..

Marker for the season so all good...was tougher than I thought it would be...

Little detour rattled my fillings out

Maroesjka Mathee was involved in a crash, and injured her wrist / arm quite a bit.

Believe she must undergo an op to repair the damage.

Best of luck Fire, hope it is not too bad, and that you recover quickly.

First road race since Argus.  Started in AL, knew it wouldn't be long before they cooked me.  Sat up at 17km, waited for BL, and went all the way to the finish with lead BL group.  3:21.  So not too bad for first ride of the season.  It's not exactly a great route - speed bumps, detours, pot holes, but it gives you a marker for the season.

But I absolutely loved the placement of the finish line.  Once over the line, there was about half a kilometer of straight road in which to sit up and wind down, and then a loop back to the cooldrinks tables.  Why do other races have the drinks tables 30m from finish line?  Argus, Ride for Sight, etc.

So I only did the 69km because I'm unfit. This whole year was just dedicated to work and an odd DH or Enduro event. I was surprised with my AM seeding because the only road race I did the last 2 years was 94.7, also did no MTB XC events in 2 years. Anyway... I ended 3rd lady I'm my age category and 8th lady overall. I got split from the front bunch after the 11km mark because there was some guy pushing/helping a lady by giving her pushes all the time and another guy didn't like it so when a verbal fight started I was stuck behind them (the guy and lady) and couldn't pass and as he stopped pushing her they went slower and in these 2min the front bunch were gone and I knew I wouldn't be able to ride them in (alone). So I found 2 other people and we went to go 'pick up' the solo's that dropped out further on.

This race made me excited to get fit again!

The 69km was my first Road event and my first ride using a Racetec chip as I haven't been cycling very long. My results aren't showing and the racetec website says that no rider has been associated with the chip number yet.

Should I just be patient and maybe shoot them an email?

The race was quite fun and riding in groups really ups your performance significantly more than I expected. I even got to help out with pulling now and then, but nowhere near strong enough for my own linking yet. Did a 2:15 or so, by my own calculations. Looking forward to getting stronger!

My race went well, until.. I got a tubbie flat on the stupid gravel section

Did about 7km on the flat tubbie, then called the missus to pick me up with the car (went straight home)

What did I take from this race: my fitness is ok and I hate tubbies.
