Yo fellow DIY'ers

I need to get some 15wt(for RS Reba 2014 solo air) and 0w30(RS Pike 2015) for lowers servicing. Where can I get these and if there are good alternatives where can I purchase it...As I have it, the RS suspension oils are just rebranded / decanted for other manufacturers so lets hear it.

There is a post on here somewhere about this. The brand they rebrand from is unavailable in South Africa. Belray is closest one(had to order it and got it from world of accessories Motorbike shop) Cant remember what the weight of it was tho.

Dankie mnr...ja i think the brand is maxima but anyway

The 0w30 I think is normal engine oil...but full synthetic though. Some okes reckon 5w30 gives a slightly plusher ride(don't know how because its more for lubrication).

Will check it out.

Engine oil is 30W and quite thick, 0w30 is alot thinner AFAIK.

For lowers i use 5w Bellray. get a nice thinnish synth fork oil from a bike shop.

Maxima is available here. I run the castor 927 on my two strokes. I have to get it from Jhb tho.

Speak to Roost Ktm and see if they can't help you.

I serviced my lowers using the new Fox 20wt Gold. (Fox fork btw).

The 20wt Gold is much better than the previous 10wt Green recommended by Fox for lowers. It lubricates better and there is noticeably less stiction.

Pretty sure you can use fox oils on a RS fork for lowers....

Damper fluid you can use Bel-Ray HVI 3wt. For lowers you can use Castrol Magnatec 5wt or Mobil One - both are fully synthetic.

@ Needleshy - I wouldn't use 5wt in the lowers, it's too thin to provide any useful tackiness to stick to the bushings. Rather use one of the oils above.

Thanks Droo great advice, bought this yesterday afternoon though. Will it be ok to use for lowers on both reba and pike?

Almost a full page and no smart comments about it being 26er or 29er oil?

Was page 1 not reserved and only useful comments allowed from pg2?
