franco2017 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Hi Guys,I sometimes ride during the week in the afternoon from abt 4:45.I start on Davidson Street in Fairlands and then ride up to the water tower and back down the other side of the hill,then back home.Takes me abt an hour.I have a MTB though.

Route is 30km and quite hilly but I'd be prepared to compromise for the sake of group enjoyment. Not sure what other people are looking for. I'd ideally like to get about five of us together, pace set by the slowest.

Route roughly as follows:Milner left into John AdamsonAcross Beyers up to BotanicalLeft into Thomas BowlerAcross dam (or detour round it, depending)Into GleneaglesRight onto GreenwayPast Parkview GolfUp WicklowLeft into WestcliffRight into Jan SmutsLeft in St. AndrewsLeft OxfordFollow Oxford, becomes RivoniaLeft at Sandton City into Sandton Drive (make sure your brakes work)Right into William Nicol or straight over into Hurlingham and back with Conrad etcElse left into Republic and left again at Braam Fischer and back home Faster and slower groups. Will get busy soon with 947 coming up.

Thanks for the info. Dont stress about them unwritten rules. Perfectly ok to tag along especially to get used to the route. Tues & Thurs normally race days. Wed & Fri chilled with slight variations in route. You will find a group that suits your pace.

johnix Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Hi everyone,Is a group for the Northcliff/Quellerina area established yet? I'm also interested in riding to the cradle on Saturdays but won't go alone. A Whatsapp group sounds like a great idea.
