Rudy Project Rydon Rx clip-ins catching

Hi

I got myself a new pair RP Rydon, and opted for Rx clip-ins. Now after two weeks, I notice that the insert is catching the impactx lenses on the inside and scratching it.

Is this normal (hard to believe this being a > R3500 product)?

Should I go back to the optom to sort it out?

Perhaps ASG can help with more info?

I don't know about that specific issue, but, in my personal opinion, I don't believe any of the Rudy Project glasses are worth owning, no matter what you pay for them.

No issue from ASG's side swopping the frame under warranty on the ones I had an issue with, but, I've gone back to Oakley.

go back to the Optom. they should not be rubbing. I have had a pair for almost 4 years now and I love them. wish I could use my contacts to ride with thou. I use the clip for all my riding.

They should definitely not be scratching - please ask your optom.  If you do not come right please send a mail to Lizle@asgworld.co.za who will direct your problem to the right person in ASG.

Thank you. I will contact the optom.

I am happy with them. Just a matter of getting used to riding with shades. Have never before.

Just as a matter of interest - have you found any distortion/discomfort?

I've also just had the same setup made and I'm finding that the inserts just don't 'feel' right. It's like they are 99% fine but that 1% just makes my eyes strain a bit which makes them uncomfortable. This disappears if I put on my regular prescription sunglasses.

Ja, exactly what I am experiencing. Also, I get a magnifying effect if I look down, say about less than a meter in front (ie when walking, going up stairs etc). Yet, according to the optom it is just a matter of "getting used" to them.

I've tried to wear them as much as possible to get use to them but my eyes are still taking strain. My optom reckons it may have something to do with the angle of the insert (that's it too 'straight'). My normal glasses have a slight 'tilt' to them.

Very frustrating when you've spent so much money...

"Luckily" the medical aid paid about a third ???????? Still bloody expensive. I will take my pair back so the technician can sort it out.

I have found that when the lenses are completely dark, the feeling/experience is better. But when the lenses are at its lightest, the discomfort is greater.

Anyway, the monies are spent... Just happy I can distinguish bumps from ditches now. Had a few close calls lately

Iv had pair a few years and absolutely love the inserts and radon combo. I went with polarized lens to give optimum glare protection yes doesn't hv the versatility of the photochromic lense but offers maximum protection. It took me a few rides to adjust.

Loving mine. Haven,t had any issues. Only problem I have is when I turn my head to look back, if I catch it wrong I am then looking through the edge of the insert and creats a bit of a double........so I think 2 people are chasing me instead of 1. Makes me go faster :-)
