a good one is becoming like a holy grail

amazing to have but unobtainable :whistling:

there are lots... they are all crap ..but we are waiting with anticipation for that amazing one to come along

so I applaud everyone who gives it a try (its just not as simple as it sounds)

you can make one that works commercially but it wont be small enough to hide inside a frame and without an antenna  you cant get a decent signal

its easier to do if you don't want to hide it or have a battery that lasts a while

its all very annoying

maybe we should email Elon Musk he is from here he is clever and has tons of loot for R&D :whistling:

It sounded like the guy earlier this afternoon is looking at trying to introduce this product as his comments came straight from their site --> https://www.cycleleash.com.au/

Sounds like a good idea, but I can't imagine you'll ever get enough coverage in SA to make it worthwhile (and the idea of SAPS buying into it just doesn't sound plausible to me). Imagine being in the first few 1000 people to buy it nationwide - by the time the thief goes past someone with the app (and a phone that picks up Bluetooth signals that fast) the battery would have been dead for years.

If someone had the funding to set up some form of monitoring stations nationwide then you might just have a good opportunity with that, but it would be a big gamble as it has zero value if you don't do it properly.

the effective statement is " if your stolen item comes within 20m of another user "

its a passive device like a microchip in a dog

useless in this country (Australia too in my opinion )

it doesn't have a gps onboard (which has an error of 20+ meters anyway) or talk to a cellphone tower

it only responds to other peoples connected devices (and the thief's one I imagine so he knows it there)

the battery may last for ever but whats the point if its in mamalodi or mannenberg

nice try no coconut

im still waiting and saving my money for a good one
