XTR 9sp derailer cage

I recently purchased a XTR 9sp derailleur and on receipt of the item I found the inner plate was bust. The price was cheap enough so I am reluctant to complain. It works as it is but what could the consequences be should I use it permanently?  Will the chain come off?   

I put an ad in the "wanted" section but have had no response, hence me trying this route.  It has a CtC of 87mm.

Is there a "plan" I could make or better still, anybody have something which will fit?

Would appreciate your suggestions and advice?
