I am looking for the three steel inserts on the AMC freebody, as on the picture.

I have tried everywhere, cannot find them loose, only as part of freebody. And that is an expensive option.

Surely there must be three (3) of them laying around in someones workshop?

Hi  you won't believe how difficult it is to find those things..and to make matters worse they are apparently different sizes for..9-10-11 speed FB. Somehow in me removing cluster or the bike going in for something 2 of mine dropped off 9 speed FB(big lesson learned) never have Free body without a cluster mounted without an elastic band around it . I ended up getting a new 10 speed FB. when i advertised on the hub looking for the inserts  there was a offer of a complete 9 spd..Fb.

Had to do an emergency repair to my rear wheel at a bikeshop I do not normaly use. (breakdown on a training ride)

They did not put the inserts back when putting the cassette back on. Only realised this when I took the cassette off again to do a proper clean of the wheel.

Now they do not have the parts anymore (can't find it)

edit: worse part is that the cassette has already eaten into my freebody after only a 60km ride. Was a struggle to get it off.

I replaced my FB ( 9 speed) about a year ago.  Still got the old FB.  Not sure if I got new inserts with new FB.  Will check after work if I have spare inserts for 9 sp

Will be brilliant if you do.

I have tried all my contacts, no luck.

You can also try Cycles Direct LBS.  Ask for Michael

He's on leave.

Jaco will scratch around in their box of goodies to see if he can't find some for me.
