flamer Posted October 22, 2015 Share Spez CamberAgreed - the 2016 looks awesome. I think the comp is good value. For value and an amazing bike Giant Trance X2Cool. I'll check it out. What's the best price one can get these for now?
Julian Howard-Tripp Posted November 9, 2015 Share I have my eye on this http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-za/bikes/model/trance.advanced.27.5.1/24197/88519/#specifications But at R68k local retail, eish. Do you guys think it is worth the extra pennies to go for the advanced over the standard trance? Not sure what the retail is on the regular is. Vs the trance 1 - only real diff is X01 / Guide RS (brilliant brakes) - Trance 1 vs full XT - Advanced 1 and then the frame. Vs Trance 2 - very different spec, and definitely worth it. Fox 34 vs fox 32, Factory vs float shock, Deore / SLX mix vs X01/XT & carbon rims vs std alu. Either way, that's one HELLUVA bike for 68k EDIT: on the US site, which our local retail tracks pretty darn closely, it's a $ 400 difference for the carbon frame. IMO - that's worth it. If that rings true, then the local retail on the Trance 1 would be around 62k. Plus - look around, you're more than likely to get them cheaper than retail if you bargain. Hairy Posted November 10, 2015 Share Silverback Slider is also a top contender with a really great parts mix and awesome trail manners. http://www.silverbacklab.com/bike/mountain/silverback-slider-1/ Edited November 10, 2015 by Hairy
