Convert GT Avalnache 26'r to 27.5

Good Morning Hubbers

 

I have a 2012 GT Avalanche 2.0. I plan on asking father Christmas for new wheels, Can This GT be converted to 27.5 searches on Google don't give me a definite answer. Has anybody on the hub done if yes; is it as simple as changing wheels. Front shock is Rock Shox Dart 2

The fork will not work. The only forks that work are Suntour and Fox.

 

I would have said the frame won't work either, but for some reason I seem to remember somebody posting a picture of a converted Gt.

 

There was a thread in the Photo section for 650b bikes. Check those photos and you might just see a GT there.

not a lot of info around, but I do believe it is possible. Maybe go to a bike shop and ask if you can fit a 650b wheel to check clearance?

Do some research here on your frame, you will need a new fork as well, Fox will work

Seanrcb ... did you manage to convert your GT Avalanche 2 to 27.5
