I had this done about 2 months ago and I am still amazed by the improvement. it feels like a different fork. It was done by Chainworx in Durban. I cannot recommend this enough

What fork was it done on, year and length?

Will the upgrade also improve the small bump compliance?

Yes, you will notice the wheel feels heavy but steerable because the wheel is actually staying on the ground with the FiT4. And when you turn rebound more thn two clicks you need to turn the compression as well. Both circuits actually respond to turning thte knobs and in a very very nice way.

Thanks Raptor. So the upgrade will also then include a knob (on top of the firm/Medium/Open one) to adjust compression in open mode? With my EVO CTD there is no way of adjusting compression damping.

Early Christmas this year ... to myself haha

The one I tried had 20 odd clicks of adjustment in the Open mode. When you flip to medium and then firm they seem to have got the compression curve more or less right in that once you set up the fork in Open, the nice feeling transfers to the other modes only firmer and firmest.

I think theres a damper upgrade that allows low speed and high speed compression adjustment as well instead of the 3 position option, but it was an XC fork. The AM forks have a slightly different suite of adjustments

Very lost. So what ya'll is trying to say is that I can take my FOX CTD 100mm and convert it to FiT4 (what ever that is) for better performance?!?!

i had it done on my 140 and its like day and night...shock actually works now and no more stiction. small bump is also good now.

Interesting, I have this fork on my 2013 Scott genius- "Fox 34 Talas 650B Factory CTD FIT Air CTD Remote Damper with 3 Modes"

The bike climbs terribly and the lockout thing does nothing but having never ridden any other 150 mm suspension fork I can't say I feel like I am missing anything. Am I missing something?  Its due for a service would this be worthwhile on this fork?

Hi Guys,

Now this is what the hub sorry bikehub is about and not all that bickering crap we often see!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some good constructive advice and suggestions

Now to my question:

Would the change make a difference to the Scott Spark 710 with the Fox 32 Float Factory CTD - 120 which is remote?

Thanks.

AFAIK the FIT dampered CTD Factory fork wasn't as badly affected as the non-factory, but the 2013 one was still pretty bad.

Okay. Read a bit more now.

Yes, seems the 2013 TALAS was a pretty bad one. The newer FIT damper is apparently a FAR greater one than that, and even though the FIT damper was better than the EVO's open bath design, it was still prone to error...

But then, maybe it just needs a service. I defer to Droo.

Yes.

Thanks Myles,

I don't know much, I'm a set and go type person do excuse the question. Any need to look at the shock or should I just upgrade and set and go?

how do you mean, look at the shock? If you're talking about setting it up for your riding style, weight and so on, then yes you need to once it's been upgraded. But that's just a case of setting the sag correctly and then checkinig the recommended settings at that pressure. Then playing around with it a bit...
