Bash guard - where to get locally ?

Every once in a while I find that the chain hops off my front single chain ring on the pedal side. It happens about once a month on my MTB and already happened once on my newly converted 1x8 road bike.

A bash gaurd should solve this but instead of buying on ebay I would like local options. I have a 32t 104BCD and a 48t 130BCD that needs bash guards.

You need a chain guide, not a bash guard.

Bash guard sits in place of the big chainring to protect the rest from - that's right - bashes.

A chain guide sits on top of the chainring to guide the chain onto the chainring.

A "taco" is the bash guard that sits behind the cranks, and is fixed in place...

You can get combos but to me it sounds as if you just need the upper guide.

FULL chain guide / bash guard combo. In the DH world, this is jus called a chain guide.

Here's one locally, but you'll probably be better off finding one on CRC

You can get these from pretty much any LBS, though you'll have to ask them to order it, most likely.

As for the type, given your large chainring on the roadie it'll probably be best to get a seat tube mounted guide (like the one shows on C Sixx)

CSixx for the win. Locally designed and well priced, and your LBS can order for you. Check out their site for options, but I'd have to go with Myles's suggestion of a top guide or a top guide / taco combo.
