Trek Dealers

Morning all

New here and have a dilemma, which I hope someone can shed some light on.

I'm looking at getting a 2016 Trek Fuel EX 8/9, after struggling to find a listed dealer who is still actually a Trek dealer, and who has stock, I decided to try the distributors, with a little success, DHB pointed me in the direction of an LBS which will remain anonymous for now. On Friday I contacted them and felt like I was really making progress, that however came to a grinding halt when the requested information to further the process wasn't forthcoming. Through the day a number of other dealers gave me counter offers on vastly higher US$ values at on average 1/4th of the price DHB suggested I would be looking at paying for the EX8.

So, the questions at this stage are:

1. Am I being stupid wanting a Trek since after a week of hunting I have made next to no progress in achieving the desired outcomes?

2. Are there any Trek dealers in Gauteng who want sales and appreciate potential customers?

3. After a number of counter offers for slightly higher spec bikes, at cheaper prices, from dealers of other brands, do you think I should be looking elsewhere entirely?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

This time of year you can get many bargains on 2014/2015 model bikes so you need to decide if you want new or slightly older.

I rode the Fuel EX 9.8 27.5and it's truly one of the best bikes i've ever ridden.

Give Deon in CT a shout at Cyclefunatics for a quote.
